RedBanner

Glasgow is expected to be hit with winds of up to 90mph on Friday due to Storm Éowyn. There is a red warning in place from 10am to 5pm. Police have issued advice to say you should not travel during this time.

 Do not travel

 Stay indoors

Keep yourself and others safe.

  • Avoid travelling by road during potentially dangerous conditions. It is not safe to drive in these conditions.
  • Don't risk injury to others or damage to your property. If you can do so safely, check for loose items outside your home and secure them. Items include; bins, garden furniture, trampolines, tents, sheds, and fences.
  • Being outside in high winds makes you vulnerable to injury. Stay indoors if you can.

National Campaigns

Tackling Misuse of Off-Road Vehicles and eBikes   A Right to Palliative Care
I am looking to see action on the misuse of off-road vehicles (such as quad and dirt bikes).    Updates on my support for palliative and end-of-life care in Scotland.

Scrap the Two-Child Benefit Cap    Making Sure Every Vote Counts
Previously, I opposed the Conservatives’ two-child cap. Now, unfortunately, it is the Labour Party’s two-child cap we are up against.   The highest percentage of (unintended) spoiled papers at the last council elections was in Canal Ward, within our constituency.

  Compensate Our WASPI Women
Like others, I support WASPI women in their campaign for justice from the UK Labour Government.

Local Campaigns

  NDC small   L Postoffice small
I am seeking to reverse the decision that will see the Notre Dame Centre close.    A strategy agreed by the UK Labour Government means the Crown Post Office in Springburn is now under direct threat of closure. It must not be allowed to close

  transport small
