Health Questions: Spinal Muscular Atrophy
Today in the Scottish Parliament, I asked the Scottish Government more about its position on using the blood spot test given to new-born babies to screen for spinal muscular atrophy to support early diagnosis and effective treatment of babies born with the condition.
The benefits of screening for SMA are both transformation and crystal clear. We must start screening, and change the lives of my constituents, and people all over Scotland.
