I was disappointing to see First Glasgow’s plans to cancel the weekend night-bus service in Glasgow. It will impact residents in Maryhill, as well as right across the city.

Recently, I had been concerned about the lack of night-bus service to the North East of the city to areas such as Springburn and beyond. I had hoped we could try and see an increase in the service, not a full reduction.

Myself and other SNP MSPs are urging First Glasgow to reconsider the decision. In any solution, I would like to see serious consideration given to extending these services to the North East of the city.

In particular, I also welcome the proactive steps my SNP colleagues in Glasgow City Council are taking to meet with First Glasgow, SPT and Transport Scotland to try and come to a solution that will help and support the city night time industry in Glasgow.
