I have been made aware that Panmure Street will close on 14 November for a number of weeks to allow infrastructure work at an nearby building site.
The road will be closed to the West of Wester common Road for a short distance. This means there will be no through traffic, although the road is accessible at either end for local access. I have been advised pedestrian access will remain.
M3 Bus
One of my concerns was the continuation of the M3 bus service - the only service that serves Hamiltonhill and Westercommon. I have been in touch with First Glasgow and am pleased they have been able to implement a diversion that will allow these communities to continue with a bus service during the works.
You can see full details of the service at https://www.firstbus.co.uk/greater-glasgow/news-and-service-updates/updates/service-m3-panmure-street
It is important to note that customer heading towards Stobhill Hospital/Milton will need to stand on the ‘to City Centre’ side of the road, while customers heading into town will need to stand on the ‘to Milton’ side of the road. First are installing this information at affected bus stops along the route so that anyone turning up to use the service at the stops will be aware to cross to the bus stops on the other side of the road to catch service M3 in the direction that they want to travel.
Diversion Route
Service M3 from City to Milton: Normal route to top of St. George’s Road, then ahead via Possil Road, Saracen Street, Allander Street, Ardoch Street, Bardowie Street, Ellesmere Street, Wester Common Road, right into Panmure Street, Stronend Street, Balmore Road, then normal route to Milton.
Service M3 from Milton to City: Same diversion route in reverse.
