New MP Patrick Grady holds first surgery with Bob Doris MSP in Maryhill
New SNP MP for Glasgow, Patrick Grady, wasted no time in getting about the important task of representing his local communities. Patrick was joined by fellow SNP parliamentarian, Bob Doris MSP, to support various local events on Saturday including a fundraising event at St Blane’s Primary School in Summerston, an open day for residents of Maryhill Housing Association, and the Maryhill Parish Church Fayre. The day culminated with a joint surgery at Maryhill Burgh Halls where a number of constituents attended.
Patrick and Bob were also joined by local Cllrs John Letford and Franny Scally on the day and is the first of a number of planned initiatives to ensure local elected representatives work as a co-ordinated team for the benefit of the communities they represent.
Patrick Grady MP for Glasgow North commented: “It was a fantastic day out and about in Maryhill and it was great to see first-hand the community spirit and dedication of many volunteers across the community. It is great to be joining a strong team of local SNP representatives, only now we can take their interests straight to the heart of Westminster. I look forward to working closely with Bob Doris MSP and all our local councillors to deliver for our constituents”.
Bob Doris MSP added: “It was wonderful to see the warm welcome people gave Patrick as their new local MP. We are determined to work closely together to benefit the communities we represent and I expect our joint parliamentary surgery to be the first of many. Together with local councillors, such as Cllrs Letford and Scally on the ground on a daily basis, I am confident we will be a strong voice in the north of Glasgow”.
